Fishing has picked up near us on the South end of the lake. Most anglers have been anchoring and jigging in front of Pine Island, Morris Point gap, Lighthouse gap and Zipple Bay. The magic depth has been changing daily, but most of the action has been in 18-30 feet of water. Gold has always been a great color jigging with a frozen shiner.

We will continue renting cabins all year round, but our bar and restaurant will be closing on Monday October 20th until the beginning of December. That means the last day of the season you will be able to enjoy our Sunday Oriental dinner special will be October 19th! We also will be hosting our 2nd annual indoor fishing tournament on Saturday October 11th!

Walleye action was hot this weekend. Good bite on West Bar on west side of Garden Island in 14-18′. Pulling crankbaits and spinners with crawlers effective. Fish starting to stage in front of Pine Island in 24-27′. Jigging with frozen shiners most effective. Also good school of walleyes in 25′ – 30′ in front of the fields by Zippel Bay. Walleyes also showing up in river, 4 Mile Bay and Zippel Bay chasing shiners which are just starting to run a bit.

Come in this fall and get Schell's Oktoberfest on tap. If the keg blows when pouring your pint you'll get a free boot! (Bar manager Mike Kraemer pictured on the left)
Sue had a great day fishing last Saturday September 20th!

On Saturday, September 6th Baudette had their annual oval track race. Cyrus Resort and Sue Vinje Trucking were proudly displayed by the first place car, number 77. Congratulations to the driver Jack Duick and his race team which consisted of his two sons Jake and Ben. Great job guys!!
Fishing Report:  Charter boats continue to go North of Garden Island. There continues to be big schools of walleyes spread out in 15-25′ of water. Best method has been drifting with crawler harnesses. Some anglers using crank baits in the deep 34′ main basin with downriggers or leadcore line with good results.
