The fishing was slower on Wednesday. The small saugers were biting but larger walleyes and eater size were hard to catch. A smaller glow jig with a frozen minnow seemed to be working best. By the end of the day groups were able to find most of their limit but it took some patience.
Today's sun is helping to increase the activity. So far groups are reporting a better bite than the last couple days. Again the dead stick with live bait is working while jigging the other line. Early morning and late afternoon bite are the most productive times.
Ice has been holding at around 11". The heave shifted last night so we moved our bridge to make crossing easier. Today and into the weekend we are expecting colder temps. That should help us gain a few inches of ice thickness. Hopefully we will be letting vehicles out later next week. As mentioned many times before, stay tuned and we will let you know as soon as we open the road to all vehicles.
Happy jigging to everyone!
