The Outdoor Adventure Foundation had a successful trip at the resort this last weekend. 22 participants including parents and family members joined us for a fun weekend of fishing on our charter boats. We would like to thank all volunteers, workers, parents and others for a great weekend had by all!

Last week we had a blast with the Cenex Farmers Union Oil group out of Oslo, MN. Thank you to everyone that came to Cyrus during the week and enjoyed fishing with our guides, getting to know our resort and chowing down on Pam's awesome outdoor fish fries! We hope all of our new friends come back soon!
Fishing within the last week, we’ve now moved into more of the controlled depths.  Find your way to the shallow rocks and you shall find some good-size walleye.  Preferred colors of Shad Raps are blue and silver or orange and gold.  Wally Divers are getting the job done as well.  Drifting with spinners is still producing as well.  Find your way to the 16’-25’ depth, tip your hammered gold spinners with minnows or leeches and the walleye will come biting! We've received another 5+” of rain this last week, but the weather forecast is looking great for next week as it says temps in the high-70’s to low 80’s, light wind and sun.

Thank you everyone who has spent time with us in the last couple weeks! July is such an awesome month on Lake of the Woods!! Great reports this week as anglers experience quick fills of limits with numbers of trophy walleye in the mix. Drifting with spinners the most common method. Try Stony Point, West Bar of Garden Island and Starren Shoal in 26-28′. Lighthouse Gap and Pine Island doing well in 8-16 feet. Reports of jigging 10-14. Mayflies have hatched, some reports of down rigging starting. Hammered gold the hot color still tipped with crawlers, leeches, or minnows. Northern pike in 6-8 feet along South Shore. Trolling with cranks most popular, good numbers on little river rockers and shad raps.

Fishing continues to be good. Pulling harnesses with crawlers, leeches and minnows are the go to method with some good reports of jigging and trolling. From Long Point, Zipple Bay, Morris Point and Pine Island try 10-14 feet with a leech or frozen shiner on hammered gold, orange or green spinner. Our charter boats have been doing well up North around Garden Island drifting with spinners in 8-16 feet.
