Current Fishing Report -
Fishing continues strong this week on both the lake and river. As water
temps continue to cool, walleye are becoming more active following the
food source. Plenty of eaters and fish to fill limits on the lake.
Anchor and jig in 18-24 feet at Lighthouse Gap, 4 Mile Bay, or Long
Point. Light colors such as white and glow have been best tipped with a
frozen shiner.
On the Rainy River, the shiners and walleye continue their journey
upstream. Fish are on from the Gap to Birchdale; hot spots including the
Airport and Frontier landing. Anchor and jig with a gold spinner on a
bottom bouncer or pink jigs tipped with live minnows. Try 12-16 feet or
19-21. Reportedly, the best bite has been just before dark, but fish
have been on all day.
